Hello!

I am very pleased that we can get to know each other better!

On this page, I present solutions to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. I strive to ensure that the content published here has practical applications. This stems from my belief that the most valuable solutions are those created by individuals with extensive experience in carrying out AML-related tasks. Years of work in identifying suspicious transactions and verifying client data in accordance with KYC directly impact the quality of my services. I have been working in the AML/KYC/Compliance industry for over 13 years, constantly focusing on the practical aspect of my work. In addition to being the author of content on this site, I also serve as an Expert and Advisor for Financial Crime Risk Management at LSEG Risk Intelligence. The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), in addition to owning the London Stock Exchange, also offers a wide range of products in the AML/KYC/Due Diligence space.

Below is a brief overview of my experience

2012 - 2014

This is how it all began. Working in a specialized AML/KYC unit for a bank allowed me to fully understand what anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing truly entail.

AML regulations impose more requirements on banks than on any other obligated institution. As an AML/KYC Specialist at Meritum Bank (acquired by Alior Bank in 2014), my responsibilities were extensive. In addition to continuously monitoring and reporting suspicious transactions to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), I also contributed to the development of Meritum Bank’s AML/KYC policy.

Through this experience, I gained a practical understanding of Polish AML regulations, which I continue to stay up to date with today.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysed thousands of accounts to detect money laundering and terrorist financing.

  • Submitted reports to the FIU and collaborated with national regulators.

  • Verified the completeness of KYC data for thousands of bank customers.

  • Maintained regular communication with the bank’s management to enhance the efficiency of the AML program.

  • Created numerous training materials, including an internal AML newsletter.

2014 - 2017

I believe that a true expert in this field is someone who combines AML experience both domestically and internationally. Citi implements highly advanced AML solutions, and understanding these enables better compliance with our national regulations.

Working in an international environment for such a prestigious organization was a crucial step in my career. As a Transaction Monitoring Expert, I had the opportunity not only to share my knowledge with others but also to learn from some of the best specialists in the world.

Thanks to my experience at Citi, I gained a deep understanding of how to effectively manage risks associated with PEP clients and private banking. I also had the chance to put my skills to the test while working in the U.S. and earned the most prestigious certification in the industry—CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducted thousands of analyses on bank accounts and other financial products, including checks, money transfers, investment products, and loans, ensuring compliance with U.S. AML regulations.

  • Regularly provided the Compliance department with in-depth analytical reports on transactions posing direct risks to the bank.

  • Carried out thousands of comprehensive investigations into the source of wealth and funds.

  • Worked primarily with high-risk clients, including private banking customers, PEPs, media figures, and companies with complex structures (e.g., special purpose vehicles or personal investment companies).

2017 - present

LSEG Risk Intelligence is a global provider of risk management solutions, particularly in the field of anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC). The brand has its roots in products originally offered by Thomson Reuters and Refinitiv. While these solutions are primarily ordered by obligated institutions, they are also valuable for anyone seeking to understand the risks associated with their clients, business partners, or acquisition targets.

The core offering consists of detailed reports on specific companies or individuals, with a strong focus on enhanced due diligence (EDD), typically reserved for entities presenting heightened risks of money laundering or other financial crimes.

One key difference between working for an obligated institution, such as a bank, and working for a risk solutions provider is the emphasis on product quality. Beyond addressing risk factors, the final product must be aesthetically polished and easy for clients to interpret.

My two years as a Senior Quality Control Specialist were crucial in understanding how to develop a product that meets the expectations of even the most demanding clients. Four years as a Senior Knowledge Management & Training Specialist provided invaluable experience in procedure development and public speaking.

Currently, as an Expert & Advisor in Financial Crime Risk Management, one of my key responsibilities is helping LSEG clients build onboarding processes for their customers or business partners. Generating revenue through advisory work is both challenging and incredibly rewarding, making this role one of the most motivating experiences of my career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • I have conducted quality verification for thousands of KYC/EDD reports ordered by some of the world’s largest financial institutions. Additionally, I have developed numerous training programs and educational materials covering AML, KYC, EDD, finance, and related fields. Sample training topics include beneficial ownership identification, transaction monitoring, financial statement analysis, investment funds, and cryptocurrencies.

  • My role also involves the development and enhancement of due diligence products. To see sample products, click on this link: LSEG Risk Intelligence. I have worked on designing methodologies and procedures for various products and processes while collaborating directly with LSEG clients to build or refine their onboarding frameworks.

  • Beyond product development, I actively participate in webinars, panel discussions, blogs, training sessions, and both internal and external presentations. I also contribute to audit activities related to maintaining the ISO 31000 certificationfor risk management.
